Student Accountability and Student Discrimination

When a student, who has otherwise met all academic and other requirements for graduation, has:

  • a pending investigation for an alleged violation of University policy, other than a pending investigation under the Sexual Misconduct Policy or Formal Grievance Protocol, the student will be permitted to participate in graduation activities, including commencement exercises. However, a degree will not be conferred or posted, if at all, until the matter is finally resolved.
  • been found responsible for a violation of University policy, other than a violation of the Sexual Misconduct Policy or Formal Grievance Protocol, and the sanction assigned is disciplinary probation or less, regardless of whether the student has submitted or may timely submit an appeal, the accused will be permitted to participate in graduation activities, including commencement exercises, and the degree will be conferred and posted.
  • been found responsible for a violation of University policy, other than a violation of the Sexual Misconduct Policy or Formal Grievance Protocol, and the sanction assigned is suspension or expulsion, regardless of whether the student has submitted or may timely submit an appeal, the student will not be permitted to participate in graduation activities, including commencement exercises, and a degree will not be conferred or posted, if at all, until the matter is finally resolved.
